Meet CUB’s Outreach Volunteer Arpi Yazijian!

By Samantha Vercellino

CUB’s Outreach Volunteer Arpi Yazijian knows that big utilities never get tired of asking for more money, which is why she volunteers her time helping the watchdog group protect consumers like you.

The Glenview-area resident—who’s been a CUB member for ten years –contacted Illinois’ leading utility nonprofit because she wanted to help CUB fight for consumers.

“I think it’s awesome that we have an organization in Illinois that solely protects the consumer and nothing else,” Arpi said. “Just knowing I’m helping makes me feel good.”

Arpi often helps the Outreach Team –which held a record breaking 500 events last year. Recently, she sorted through hundreds of surveys that asked consumers about their electricity, natural gas and telephone usage.

This is not the first time that Arpi has dedicated her time to volunteering. In the past, she has spent many years coordinating fund-raising programs for the local schools.

If you want to be a volunteer, give CUB a call, at 1-800-669-5556, and ask for Hilary Snover or Matt Harvey.
