The Federal Communications Commission’s open comment period for the proposed Comcast/Time Warner merger ends August 25th. Sign CUB’s petition demanding the FCC either reject the deal or ensure these basic consumer protections:
- Mandatory compensation to customers who suffer poor service,
- An “a la carte” cable option allowing customers to only pay for the channels they choose;
- Company policies that uphold federal net neutrality standards.
After a recent Comcast customer service debacle— a consumer spent more than 18 minutes trying to get his service canceled from an overzealous representative– it’s more important than ever to make sure the FCC defends consumer rights in the proposed merger.
