20140527_newrates_blogSummer is around the corner and temperatures are finally on the rise. But before you start cranking that AC, check out the new summer rates from your regulated electricity supplier.

ComEd announced several weeks ago that its rate will jump from 5.5 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to 7.596 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) starting June 1.

Ameren customers, however, will see a slight drop from 4.8 -4.863 cents per kWh to 4.553 to 4.657 cents per kWh, depending on the zone you live in.

Read the 5 things you need to know about the rate change for Ameren and ComEd customers.  Take the survey at the bottom of the page by noon Friday and you could be entered in a drawing to potentially win $25 off your next utility bill.
